Kate Powell, LCSW, MPH
I am an experienced therapist (Columbia University, MPH, Florida State MSW), providing therapy for adults who experience depression, general anxiety, social and performance anxiety, marital/couple difficulties, trauma, obsessive-compulsive behaviors, attention deficit disorder, addiction (including opiates), binge-eating behaviors, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
A breast cancer survivor and a parent of children with attention deficit disorder, I am keenly aware of how physical illness can profoundly affect mental well-being. I can provide positive and knowledgeable support for adults navigating these issues.
Strategies to increase the “feel happy and less anxious” neurotransmitters that naturally make one feel good are a skill and knowledge base of mine. Many people are hesitant to use psychiatric medication. I am not opposed to the use of psychiatric medication but I know some people want to feel better using other interventions.
