Competence, integrity, effective.
I offer the steadiness of long experience and the directness of a clinician who believes therapy should be useful in your actual life.
What To Expect
Experience shapes how I listen
Before opening my private practice in 2014, I led mental health, psychiatric, addiction and clinical services in hospital and state systems. That perspective helps me see both the immediate problem and the larger pattern around it.
More than 30 years in behavioral health have taught me to listen for what is urgent without losing sight of what is underneath it. A concern about work may also involve identity, health or a relationship. Anxiety may affect a decision, while the decision creates more anxiety. We can respect that complexity and still choose one clear place to begin.
My style is warm and direct. We will name what is happening, decide what matters most and work toward changes you can use in daily life.
More about this
I have a particular understanding of how physical health and illness can affect emotional well-being. I support adults navigating those changes with care that respects the whole person.
How We Work
Education and professional grounding
Master of Public Health (MPH) in Health Care Management and Policy, Columbia University.
Master of Social Work (MSW), Florida State University.
My clinical work draws from person-centered and solution-focused therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and DBT skills. I use these approaches with judgment rather than following one script. Therapy should make sense to you, and I explain how a method connects to the concern we are addressing.
How We Work
Therapy connected to real life
I work with adults navigating life transitions, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, substance use and addiction, stress and burnout, OCD and ADHD. Our conversations stay connected to the situations you face outside the session. We may examine a recurring thought, prepare for a difficult conversation, clarify mixed feelings or identify one practical action to try.
I will listen closely, ask direct questions and make room for your pace. The goal is not to push you toward an answer or promise a particular outcome. It is to help you understand the pattern more clearly and make deliberate choices that fit your priorities.
Sessions are provided through secure telehealth. A free consultation gives us a chance to discuss what brings you to therapy and whether my experience and style fit what you need.
