Telehealth Therapy in Connecticut
Secure video therapy, with Connecticut as home base.
Connecticut is where most of my practice happens, all of it by secure video for adults 18 and older. There is no office to visit: you join each session from a private place in Connecticut, New York or Massachusetts.

What To Expect
Years of leading programs in Connecticut
Much of my career was spent leading programs in Connecticut, in roles that included Director of Mental Health Services, Rushford (Hartford HealthCare), CT; Director of Psychiatric Services, Griffin Hospital, Derby, CT; and Director of Clinical Services, State of CT Dept. of Mental Health and Addiction Services, Bridgeport and Stamford.
In all, my work in behavioral health spans more than 30 years, including private practice since 2014. That history shapes a style that is direct, practical and collaborative, with close attention to what is realistic for your week.
This practice is for adults who want focused, individual work. Sessions are for one person at a time, not couples or families, so the time stays on you and the changes you want to make.
Further down, you will find pages for towns across Connecticut that cover what life in each area tends to ask of people.
How We Work
Joining from home, or from work in the city
Licensing follows your physical location during a session, not your home address. I am licensed in Connecticut, New York and Massachusetts, so for every appointment you need to be in one of those three states.
That opens a useful option for commuters. If you live in Connecticut and work in New York City, my New York license means we can meet on a workday while you are in a private office in the city. Private means a closed door and no one within earshot. A train, a car in motion or a desk in an open-plan room does not count, however quiet it seems in the moment.
Our sessions use secure video, so the setup is simple: a phone, tablet or computer with a camera and microphone, plus an internet connection steady enough for a video call. Headphones add privacy if anyone else is nearby, and settling in a few minutes early lets us begin on time.
More about this
Massachusetts works the same way, so a work trip to Boston need not mean a missed session as long as you have a private room. If you will be outside Connecticut, New York and Massachusetts at session time, we will reschedule, because sessions are never held from another state.
How We Work
What we focus on together
You might be facing a life transition, anxiety or depression, or a relationship challenge you want to work on individually. I also treat substance use and addiction, stress and burnout, OCD and ADHD. Sometimes the reason to reach out is harder to label, more a sense that something needs to change than a single problem. We start with whatever feels most pressing.
My approach is person-centered and direct. The methods I draw on include CBT, Motivational Interviewing, DBT skills and solution-focused therapy, chosen to suit the problem rather than applied by formula. I explain my reasoning as we go, and you stay in charge of the goals.
For insurance, I am in network with Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, UnitedHealthcare, Cigna and most other major plans, and I am a participating provider in the MultiPlan network. Superbills are available for possible out-of-network reimbursement, and because coverage varies by plan, it is worth confirming your behavioral health benefits with your insurer before we begin.

Questions You May Be Asking
Can I meet from work in New York City?
Yes, as long as you are in a private office with the door closed. My New York license, LCSW #069648, covers sessions while you are physically in New York, but a commuter train or an open-plan desk is not private enough.
Do I need to live in Connecticut to work with you?
No. What counts is where you are at the time of the session. You can join from anywhere in Connecticut, New York or Massachusetts, provided you have a private place to talk.
What happens if I will be away on a session day?
Tell me as early as you can. If you will be outside Connecticut, New York and Massachusetts, we will move the appointment to a day when you are back, since I cannot hold a session while you are in another state.
Do you have a physical office?
No. Every session is held by secure video, so there is no address to travel to. You choose a private spot, and we meet on screen.
