What life in Westport can ask of you

Westport sits on Long Island Sound at the mouth of the Saugatuck River, and for many residents the week is shaped by the Metro-North schedule, a demanding job in Stamford or New York City, and a household that runs on careful logistics. From the outside it can look like a life with every piece in place.

Inside that life, people often carry more than they say. Parents watch children leave for college and find the house suddenly quiet. Professionals approach the end of a long career and wonder who they are without the title. Others reach a point where the pace that once felt energizing now feels like something to survive.

These are the kinds of transitions I work with most. Change can be chosen, unwanted or both at once, and it often touches identity, relationships and health at the same time.

If your week runs between Westport and New York

Many Westport residents spend their working days in New York City. Because I am licensed in New York as well as Connecticut and Massachusetts, we can meet from home in Westport or from a private office in the city, as long as you are physically in one of those three states during each session. There is no need to pause therapy on the days work keeps you in Manhattan.

It helps to tell me your travel dates ahead of time. If a trip takes you somewhere other than Connecticut, New York or Massachusetts, such as a winter stretch farther south, we will plan around those weeks together rather than meeting from another state.

Continuity can matter most during exactly these seasons. A move between homes, a change in routine and time away from friends can unsettle mood, and a steady weekly conversation gives you one fixed point while everything else shifts.

Why telehealth fits a Westport schedule

All of my sessions take place by secure video. I do not have an office in Westport, and you do not need to drive anywhere. You can meet from a quiet room at home, a parked car or any private place where you can speak freely.

For people who already spend hours commuting, removing one more trip can make it realistic to keep a steady weekly appointment. Consistency matters in therapy, and a format that fits your week makes consistency easier.

The one firm requirement is location. You need to be physically in Connecticut, New York or Massachusetts during each session, the three states where I am licensed. If you commute into New York, a private office with the door closed works as well as a quiet room at home.

You must be located in Connecticut, New York or Massachusetts during each session. A train or an open-plan floor is not private enough, so choose a room where you can close the door.

How we work together

My style is warm and direct. We name what is happening, decide what matters most and connect our conversations to real situations in your week. Depending on your goals, I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, DBT skills and solution-focused work.

I bring more than 30 years in behavioral health, including years leading hospital and state programs before I opened my private practice in 2014. That background helps me see the immediate concern and the larger pattern around it, whether the issue is anxiety, low mood, a relationship strain or a question about drinking.

I work with individual adults only. People of every background, identity and culture are welcome.

Getting started from Westport

I am in network with most major insurance plans and a participating provider in the MultiPlan network. Superbills are available for possible out-of-network reimbursement, and we can discuss private-pay fees before your first session.

The first step is a free consultation. You can describe what brings you to therapy and decide whether my approach feels like a good fit. When you are ready, visit Work With Me to confirm your location and request an appointment through the secure client portal.

Common Questions

Questions People Ask

Do you have an office in Westport?

No. All of my sessions are by secure video, so there is no office to visit. You can join from home or another private place in Connecticut where you can talk openly.

Can I have a session from my office in New York City?

Yes, as long as it is private. I am licensed in New York as well as Connecticut and Massachusetts, so a closed office in the city works. A shared desk or a commuter train does not, because others can overhear.

Do you work with parents whose children have just left home?

Yes. The shift that comes when children leave home is one of the life transitions I work with often. I see the adult individually, not the family as a group.
