Life in the middle
Trumbull is a suburban town just north of Bridgeport, crossed by the Merritt Parkway, with neighborhoods, parks and a long wooded trail along the Pequonnock River. Many residents are in the busiest stretch of adult life: working, raising children or helping them launch, and increasingly looking after aging parents.
This stage is sometimes called the sandwich years, and the name fits. You may be the person others rely on, and there may be very little left over for you. Stress can show up as irritability, poor sleep, worry that will not switch off or a sense of going through the motions.
Therapy is a place where, for once, the hour is about you.
- Caregiver stress
- Work and family balance
- Anxiety
- Relationship strain
Caregiving and its weight
Supporting an aging parent or a family member with health problems can bring love, duty, guilt, resentment and fatigue all at once. People often feel they are not allowed to say how hard it is.
We can make room for all of it, look at what you can realistically carry and practice conversations about limits, including with siblings or other relatives. My background includes years in hospital and state behavioral health leadership, so I have seen up close how illness affects the people around it.
Asking for support is not the same as giving up. It is often what makes caregiving sustainable.
Therapy from home
All sessions are by secure video. I do not have an office in Trumbull. You can join from a quiet room at home, a parked car or another private place in Connecticut, which can make a weekly appointment realistic even in a full household.
My style is warm and direct. I draw from CBT, Motivational Interviewing, DBT skills and solution-focused therapy. I work with adults individually, not couples or families, and adults of every background are welcome.
Relationship strain from your side
Busy years put pressure on relationships. Conversations become about logistics, resentment builds quietly and the same argument can repeat for years. You may want things to change but feel stuck in how you respond.
I provide individual therapy, so we focus on your part of the pattern: what you feel, what you need, how you tend to react and what you want to try instead. That might mean preparing for a hard conversation, practicing how to name a need clearly or deciding what you are no longer willing to carry.
Changing your side of a pattern often shifts the whole dynamic, and even when it does not, it can give you more clarity about what you want.

Common Questions
Questions People Ask
Where can I find privacy for a session in a busy house?
Many people use a bedroom with the door closed, a home office or a parked car. Headphones help. The key is a place where you can talk freely for the whole session.
Can you help me with stress from caring for a parent?
Yes. Caregiver stress is a common reason people reach out. We focus on your well-being and on what you can sustain.
Do you see family members together?
No. I provide individual therapy for adults. We can work on how you handle family conversations from your side.
